A festive cultural program, showcasing the musical and choral talents of Armenian school students was held on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at the Nazareth and Sima Kalaydjian Hall. The event, presided by His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, was held in celebration of the 90th anniversary of establishment of the Western Diocese.
More than 500 students from six different Armenian daily and Saturday Schools participated in the exciting program, which highlighted the cultural jewels of Armenian literature and music. The angelic voices of the children performing sacred hymns (sharagans) moved the hearts of the clergy and parents alike.

The students of Armen Tigranyan Music School and the seminarians of the Turpanjian Seminary of Harichavank showcased their vocal abilities, enthralling the audience.Â

“The performances of these angels today attest to the livelihood of our rich culture. Their songs echoed the same exact songs of their ancestors who 90 years ago established their communities, holding on and preserving the sacred Christian values which we commonly hold in reverence. They are stronger with Christ,” said the Catholicos of All Armenians in his closing remarks.

As a token of His Holiness’ appreciation, crosses from Holy Etchmiadzin were distributed to the students.  Â
