The Diocese

A special reception in celebration of the 90th anniversary of the establishment of the Western Diocese of the Armenian Church of North America was held at the Jonathan Club on Thursday, September 7, 2017. Graciously hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Turpanjian, the event highlighted the rich history of the Western Diocese, her continuing missions and her vision for a more prosperous future. Diocesan benefactors, donors and supporters were in attendance.
Welcoming remarks were delivered by Mrs. Lori Muncherian.
In his message, the Primate firstly expressed his wholehearted gratitude to Mr. and Mrs. Gerald and Patricia Turpanjian for their unwavering support of the Diocesan missions, humanitarian outreach and educational programs both locally and in the Motherland. “Tonight we celebrate the vision of the founders of the Western Diocese and all those who have been engaged in the life of the church. Throughout the nine decades, we have cherished the history of witnessing Christ, committing to selfless service and adhering to the Word of God and the teachings and sacred traditions of the Armenian Apostolic Church,” stated His Eminence in part. “The mission of the Western Diocese of the Armenian Church of North America is to lead the Armenian people to God buy preaching, teaching and living the gospel of Jesus in accordance with the doctrines and traditions of the Armenian Church and through collective worship and the privilege of servitude.”
An informational video prepared by the TV and Media Department of the Western Diocese highlighted the accomplishments as well as the missions being carried out by the Western Diocese.
Remarks were also delivered by Mr. Harout Markarian, Mr. Kev Zorian, Mr. Mardik Oruncakciel and Miss Katherine Mgrubilian.
