Mer Hooys Residents Start New School Year

September 1 is Knowledge Day in Armenia - the first day of the new school year.  Fifteen girls ages 7-13 who now live at Mer Hooys went to school, accompanied by mentors Syuzan and Hasmik, with new dresses, new haircuts and big smiles on their faces. Program graduate Ani H and mentor Yn. Lusine B. gave the little ones’ new hairdos.  Those of the original class of older girls who are living in the new Mer Hooys graduate wing of the Nakashian Childrens Support Center helped prepare backpacks and new uniforms for the little ones.

The newest girls had their first day in a new school with new classmates and new teachers. The school welcomed the girls very warmly and opened its doors with promises for a good academic year and high marks!  Knowledge is the most powerful tool for every individual and for the Mer Hooys program it is one of the most important components.

Mer Hooys Board is confident that all the children will have an academic year full of success and achievements!
