Feast of the Assumption of the Holy Mother of God at Ararat Home

Diocesan clergy paid a visit to the elderly residents of Ararat Home in Mission Hills on Thursday, August 11 for the celebration of the Feast of the Assumption of the Holy Mother of God.
 
The Divine Liturgy was celebrated at the Chapel by the Very Rev. Fr. Pakrad Dz. V. Berjekian. The celebrant priest was also the homilist who in his sermon highlighted the significance of the ceremonial rite of the blessing of the grapes in the Armenian Apostolic Church.

Archpriest Fr. Hovsep Hagopian, Archpriest Fr. Shnork Demirjian, the Rev. Fr. Haroutioun Tachejian, the Rev. Fr. Khajag Shahbazyan and the Rev. Fr. Serovbe Alanjian participated in the service.
 
The celebration then continued with the blessing of grapes in the nursing facility, led by Fr. Pakrad and with the participation of the Diocesan priests.
 
The blessings of the Primate were extended to the administration, staff, and residents at both the nursing facility and the Chapel.
 
A luncheon with directors, staff, and residents following the service.
 
Later that afternoon, Archpriest Fr. Manoug Markarian, Archpriest Fr. Sarkis Petoyan and the Rev. Fr. Zareh Mansuryan visited the residents at Ararat Home in Eagle Rock where they performed the Blessing of the Grapes ceremony.
