The Annual Women's Prayer Day, organized by the Ladies Society Central Council, was held at St. Leon (Ghevontiants) Armenian Cathedral on Wednesday, March 5, 2025. Commencing with a Sunrise Service (Arevakal) at 10:30 a.m., dozens of ladies from various ladies society chapters were in attendance.
This year’s theme was “Raising Resilient Children with Faith and Hope”. Featured guest speakers were Dr. Anna Yaralyan, PSY.D, Mr. Avo Soltanian, LMFT, and Ms. Lena Haiek, AMFT.
Visual presentations by the speakers emphasized the analytical and holistic approach for children’s physical and emotional development. The role of parental approach and involvement, prayer, past historical traumas, Armenian identity and perseverance were all addressed and discussed with the guests.
In his benediction, Archbishop Hovnan Derderian reiterated the importance of prayers and reflection during lent and being “true to ourselves”.
Following the service, a complementary luncheon was held in the “Hampar Family Room” of the Western Diocese.
