Humble Yourself

“The greatest among you should be like the youngest, and the one who rules like the one who serves. For who is greater, the one who is at the table or the one who serves? Is it not the one who is at the table? But I am among you as one who serves.” (Luke 22:26-27).

The Gospel of Christ, our Lord enriches our spirituality with messages conveyed that lead us towards God and help us understand the significance of moral values.

Christ’s message instructs us to live a life of humility, for great are those who live a humble life and are servants of all. The richness of our lives is conditioned by a life lived with humility.

This particular passage from the Gospel according to St. Luke represents the life of humanity of all ages. That which disrupts all is the same dispute which arose amongst the apostles. “Who is the greatest?”

Great is the one who becomes the servant of all. For us Christians, Christ is the supreme model of humility who has humbled Himself through Incarnation and has led us toward the divine light.
