Dear Angelenos and community members,
My heart and prayers go out to you during this time of unimaginable loss and hardship caused by the winds and fires that have engulfed our neighborhoods.
Take hope that you are not alone in this. As brothers and sisters in Christ, we stand with you. We pray for your safety, for the restoration of the comfort of your homes, and for rebuilding to begin soon. We pray that God may guide all those who are helping in the emergencies, especially the fire fighters and civil servants.
Even when the road ahead feels overwhelming, hold fast to the promise of calm as we read in the Scriptures: “Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand” (Isaiah 41:10).
May our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ restore peace and normalcy in our homes and strengthen us to pass this calamity.
With prayers,
Archbishop Hovnan Derderian
Primate
