Western Diocese Hosts ACYO Christmas Fellowship

The involvement of youth in the Western Diocese of the Armenian Church of North America is vital for the preservation and growth of the Armenian Apostolic Church. Recognizing this, the Diocesan Primate, Archbishop Hovnan Derderian, has been a steadfast advocate for empowering young members of the church. On December 14, 2024, the Primate hosted a Christmas fellowship for the members of the Armenian Church Youth Organization (ACYO) at the Hampar Family Room of the Western Diocese. Also taking part in the fellowship was the Diocesan Vicar General the Very Rev. Fr. Yeremia Abgaryan.

During the fellowship, Archbishop Derderian inspired the youth with a message centered on the importance of being armed with God's love and wisdom. In today’s world, young people face a myriad of challenges, from societal pressures to technological distractions. By equipping themselves with spiritual strength, they are better prepared to navigate these difficulties while upholding the sacred traditions of the Armenian Apostolic Church. The Archbishop emphasized that through prayer, community engagement, and active participation in the life of the church, the youth can find the guidance they need to overcome obstacles and grow as faithful stewards of their heritage.

The future of the Western Diocese rests in the hands of its youth, whose active participation ensures the continuity of the Armenian Apostolic Church’s rich traditions. Events like the Christmas fellowship hosted by the Diocesan Primate Archbishop Derderian not only foster a sense of belonging but also inspire a deeper connection to faith and cultural identity. By investing in the spiritual and personal growth of its young members, the Diocese paves the way for a vibrant and enduring community, united by a shared commitment to faith and service.
