On Monday, August 9, the Diocesan Primate met with the Executive Team of Adventist Health Glendale. His Eminence, who was accompanied by Mr. Diran Avagyan, Program Management and Special Assignments Coordinator of the Western Diocese, was greeted by Nelu Nadella, Leader of Mission and Spiritual Care, the chaplains of Adventist Health Glendale.
Later in the day, Archbishop Derderian was received by the executives of the hospital headed by Mrs. Alice Issai, President and CEO.
A presentation was made about the accomplishments of the hospital and its pivotal role in leading an effective fight against the COVID-19 pandemic in greater Los Angeles.
Archbishop Derderian reflected on the solid bond which exists between the Western Diocese and Adventist Health Glendale, including the Western Diocese's annual participation in the Blessing of the Water service and the Medical Center's annual commemoration of the Armenian Genocide.
Following the meeting, the Primate visited and blessed the hospital's patients.
Founded in 1905, Adventist Health Glendale is the largest medical center serving the San Fernando Valley, with 800 physicians, 2,600 associates and 1,100 volunteers.
