On the morning of April 24, 2016, the Feast of the Holy Martyrs of the Armenian Genocide, His Eminence Archbishop Hovnan Derderian, Primate, celebrated the Divine Liturgy and delivered the sermon at St. Leon Armenian Cathedral.
Archbishop Vatche Hovsepian, the Very Rev. Fr. Dajad Dz. V. Yardemian, Archpriest Fr. Sipan Mekhsian, the Rev. Fr. Khajag Shahbazyan and the Rev. Fr. Khajag Shahbazyan participated in the service.
During the service, the students of Yerevan’s Armen Tigranian Music School sang liturgical hymns and performed a beautiful rendition of the national anthem of the Republic of Armenia. His Eminence blessed the talented students exhorting them to uphold their Armenian identity and to cherish the Christian values and traditions.
Following the service, the clergy and a large number of faithful departed to take part in the Rally For Justice at the Turkish Consulate in Los Angeles.
