“Our role isn’t just to provide outstanding care clinically and scientifically with treatments and cures, but also to do in a highly compassionate setting, which includes providing for the spiritual support for families.”
(Paul Viviano)
I have known Paul Viviano personally and can certainly adhere to the sincerity of his words. His words come from the heart. He has inspired me with the dedication he has shown for children and their families at the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.
As I write these words, I lift up my heart and pray for all doctors and nurses, whose lives have become a blessing for all people who suffer of illness. And I agree with Paul Viviano, that whatever the care doctors and nurses offer is vital. However, more visible than their professionalism is their spiritual touch and support for sick people and their families. Often people are looking for miracles, yet are forego those miracles that accompany us. I have never doubted that doctors and nurses dedicate their lives without the living faith. Their willingness to sacrifice speaks volumes of their faith in God. They respond to God’s call with dignity and bring joy and hope into the hearts of sick people. Ultimately, their passion and respect for human life is worthy of honor. Paul Viviano is a compassionate human being who cares for the people of God.
