Feasts and Special Prayers During the Celebrations of the Divine Liturgy

Under the pastoral leadership of the Diocesan Primate His Eminence Archbishop Hovnan Derderian, the Western Diocese of the Armenian Church of North America continues to carry out its religious, cultural and humanitarian missions even in these most challenging times. 

With the Primate’s blessings, the celebration of the Divine Liturgy in the upcoming Sundays will be dedicated to:

Physicians and Nurses (May 17),

Teachers, students and graduates (May 24)

The Armenian Christian family (May 31)

The Reverend Clergy of the Western Diocese with Jubilees (June 7)

The Catholicon of Holy Etchmiadzin (June 14)

Fathers – on the occasion of Father’s Day (June 21)

May 17 – Dedicated to physicians, nurses and medical staff

A special prayer will be held for the health, well-being and safety of all professionals in the medical field.

May 24 – Dedicated to teachers, principals, students and graduates

A special prayer will be held for educators, students and graduates of the class of 2020. Graduates will be presented the opportunity on the special occasion to address their heartfelt messages via live-stream.

May 31 – Dedicated to the Armenian Christian family

The address of His Eminence Archbishop Karekin Khachadourian, the first Primate of the Western Diocese of the Armenian Church of North America, to the Armenian family will be read during the service.

Heartfelt remarks will also be delivered by the Diocesan Primate His Eminence Archbishop Hovnan Derderian.

June 7 – Reverend Clergy Jubilee Celebrations

On the occasion of the Feast of the Catholicon of Holy Etchmiadzin, a special prayer will be held for the reverend clergy of the Western Diocese, especially those with jubilee birthdays. The service will include a live-stream performance by the Shnorhali Choir of the Western Diocese.

June 14 – Feast of the Catholicon of Holy Etchmiadzin

On the occasion of the Feast of the Catholicon of Holy Etchmiadzin, a special prayer will be held during the service for the sustainability and prosperity of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, the spiritual center of the Armenian people.

June 21 – Father’s Day

A special prayer will be held in celebration of Father's Day.  The service will include live-stream performances dedicated to fathers by the Shnorhali Choir and the Deacons of the Western Diocese.
