Dr. Ellie Antreassian, Chairlady of the Saturday School Executive Committee of the Western Diocese, was honored during the celebration of the Divine Liturgy on Sunday, December 6. The accomplished educator had been honored with the prestigious gold medal conferred upon her by the Ministry of the Diaspora of the Republic of Armenia. The medal was presented to Dr. Antreassian by the Diocesan Primate who congratulated the honoree for her vast achievements and accolades in the field of education saying "Your love for the Armenian language culture and heritage is evident in your keen desire to instill in the hearts of the young generation the essence of the Armenian identity." Archbishop Derderian commended Dr. Antreassian's methodological approach to education, noting her invaluable contributions to the expansion of the Diocesan Saturday Schools through educational teachers' workshops, seminars and lectures.
