Blessing of Two 18th Century Paintings at St. Peter Armenian Church of Van Nuys

On Friday, November 8, 2019, with the participation of Archpriest Fr. Shnork Demirjian and the deacons, the Diocesan Primate officiated the blessing of two 18th Century Paintings at St. Peter Armenian Church of Van Nuys. Donated to the church by Mrs. Theresa Deukmedjian and children, the paintings were dedicated to the memory of Dr. Yeghia Deukmedjian.

The donations, made from the Deukmedjian Fine Art Collection, included an oil painting of “Jesus, the Good Shepherd” as well as a three-panel oil painting “The Infant Jesus,” “Descent from the Cross,” and “St. John, the beloved disciple.”

Addressing the Deukmedjian family, Archbishop Derderian commended their zealous Christian spirit, unwavering support and loyalty to the Armenian Church.
