Primate Pays Pastoral Visit to the Armenian Community in Las Vegas  89th Annual Diocesan Assembly Less Than 3 Weeks Away

On April 11, 2016, the Diocesan Primate paid a pastoral visit to the Armenian community of Las Vegas. Archbishop Derderian, who was accompanied by Dn. Harout Markarian, the Executive Director of the Western Diocese visited the construction site of the Armenian Apostolic Church of Las Vegas. While on his visit His Eminence also presided over the consecration of the cross of the main dome.

Archbishop Derderian was also the guest on Armount Television Network, the first and largest Armenian Television network in Nevada in an interview with host Lenna Hovanessian.

The Armenian Apostolic Church of Las Vegas will host the 89th Annual Diocesan Assembly Weekend from May 5-7, 2016. The Ladies Society Assembly and Clergy Conference will be held on Thursday, May 5 and will be followed by the Blessing and Dedication ceremony (Navagadig) of the Armenian Church of Las Vegas.

On May 6, delegates will gather for the 89th Annual Diocesan Assembly which will be followed by the consecration of the church and cross stones. The assembly gala banquet will be held later that evening.

On Saturday, May 7, the Primate will preside over the official dedication ceremony of the Khenteer Tajirian Educational Center adjacent to the church building.

The Assembly weekend will culminate on Sunday, May 8 with the episcopal celebration of the Divine Liturgy by His Eminence Archbishop Hovnan Derderian, Primate of the Western Diocese.
