Anoush Opera Performers From Armenia Visit The Western Diocese

The students of the Yerevan Municipality Music School named after Armen Tigranyan visited the Headquarters of the Western Diocese on April 3, 2016. The promising young singers met with the Primate who commended their God-given talent and encouraged them to remain steadfast in their pursuit of music education.

On April 6, the school's award-winning students showcased their talent at the Nazareth and Sima Kalaydjian Hall of the Western Diocese by performing "A Liturgy for Komitas," a concert-presentation dedicated to the centennial commemoration of the Armenian Genocide. More than 250 people attended the moving concert.

Under the auspices of the Western Diocese of the Armenian Church of North America and the esteemed patronage of Ms. Silva Kavoukjian, on April 17 the young singers will perform the world renowned "Anoush" Opera at the iconic Alex Theater in Glendale.

Each year, the Armen Tigran Music School takes part in local, national and international festivals winning recognition for their outstanding performances.
