Diocesan clergy paid a visit to the elderly residents of Ararat Home in Mission Hills on Tuesday, August 13 for the celebration of the Feast of the Assumption of the Holy Mother of God.
The Divine Liturgy was celebrated at the Chapel by the Rev. Fr. Yeremia Khachatryan, Visiting Pastor of Ararat Home. The celebrant priest was also the homilist who in his sermon highlighted the significance of the ceremonial rite of the blessing of the grapes in the Armenian Apostolic Church.


The Very Rev. Fr. Dajad Dz. V. Yardemian, Archpriest Arshag Khatchadourian, Archpriest Fr. Hovsep Hagopian, Archpriest Fr. Manoug Markarian, Archpriest Fr. Shnork Demirjian, the Rev. Fr. Haroutioun Tachejian, the Rev. Fr. Yeghia Isayan and the Rev. Fr. Serovbe Alanjian participated in the service.


With the participation of the Diocesan priests, the celebration then continued with the blessing of grapes in the nursing facility.



The blessings of the Primate were extended to the administration, staff, and residents at both the nursing facility and the Chapel.

Words of gratitude were expressed to the Diocesan clergy by Joseph Kanimian, Esq., Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Ararat Home for their continued pastoral care and compassion for the residents.
Later that afternoon, Archpriest Fr. Sarkis Petoyan, the Rev. Fr. Vazken Movsesian and the Rev. Fr. Yeremia Khachatryan visited the residents at Ararat Home in Eagle Rock where they performed the Blessing of the Grapes ceremony.
