On June 28, 2019, the Diocesan Primate attended the commencement exercises of the Alfred and Marguerite Hovsepian School of St. Gregory the Illuminator Armenian Church of Pasadena. Archbishop Derderian was accompanied by Archpriest Fr. Sarkis Petoyan, Pastor of St. Gregory the Illuminator Armenian Church of Pasadena.
In his remarks to the graduating class, Archbishop Derderian encouraged the youth to remain focused on their educational goals, steadfast in their ancestral Christian Faith, and loyal to the sacred teachings and traditions of the Armenian family.
Extending his pastoral blessings to the principal Mr. Shahe Mankerian, the teaching staff and the parents, His Eminence commended their invaluable role in preserving the Armenian Christian identity in the Diaspora.
