Primate Visits Hye Camp

On August 6, 2018, the Primate traveled to Dunlap where he visited the campers, staff and chaplains. An avid table tennis player, His Eminence was challenged by campers in the spirit of competition. Archbishop Derderian also worked on his jump shot on the basketball court challenging campers and priests alike.   

For camp alumni, Hye Camp has been a jewel nestled in the Southern Sierra Nevada. Summer is not summer without our camp. A week of prayer and contemplation coupled with sports, crafts, music and art creates a lifetime of memories. The serenity of Hye Camp is unmatched. It is the place where one truly captures and soaks in the beauty of God’s wondrous creation. The sentimental feeling of HyeCamp is equally shared by Diocesan clergy, many of whom have been campers themselves.
