One of the core initiatives of Sevag Derderian, Chairman of the mission Association of Armenian Church Choirs of the Western Diocese, has been to further enhance the sacred music within the Western Diocese.

To date, AACCWD has expanded its sacred music library, implemented a HyeCamp music curriculum, and a weekly CEC (Sunday School) music curriculum. This year, the AACCWD is proud to announce the launch of two new projects.
Beginning August 2018, the AACCWD will launch two online music education classes that will be available to students world-wide. Students (16+ yrs. old) will have the opportunity to partake in two classes that will each span 8 weeks. Each class will be taught with a remote instructor who will lecture through written notes, videos, and live web sessions. 2018 Class Offerings: Music Theory & Harmony 101, Armenian Sacred Music Fundamentals 101. Our efforts remain committed to enhancing education not only within our Diocese but across the world through modern-day technology and infrastructure.
Further detailed information about these two classes will be posted online on our website at www.aaccwd.com.
The AACCWD is currently in the midst of preparing a new publication of the Sacred Music Chants of the Divine Liturgy. Once published, these works will feature a complete collection of the following:
Melodies
Processional Hymns
Introits
Hymns of Synaxis
Graduals
Chants of the Divine Liturgy
Requiem Service
Sunrise Service
Variable Alternate Compositions
This publication will consist of two-volumes. The first will be designated to choir members and will be separated in parts for Soprano, Alto, Tenor, and Bass. The second volume will be a complete publication of the entire score for choir and organ. Furthermore, each song will have a corresponding MIDI (audio recording file) that may be accessed via our library for rehearsal and/or listening purposes. Once published (2019), these works will be the sole reference for all Diocesan parishes.
