Armenia School Foundation Marks 15th Anniversary

Armenia School Foundation marked its 15th anniversary with a gala banquet at the Vertigo Banquet Hall on Saturday, March 17, 2018.

The Diocesan Primate Archbishop Hovnan Derderian attended the event and delivered the invocation.

In his remarks, Archbishop Derderian commended the leadership of Mr. Levon Aharonian, the Founder and the God-pleasing mission of the Armenia School Foundation. “For 15 years, Armenia School Foundation has pursued a most noble cause, namely the creation of a safe and sound learning environment for our children in the Motherland. However, when a mother mourns the loss of her young son who falls in battle in Artsakh, reality begins to sink in. It seems as if everything that we do is in vain as none of this humanitarian aid can equal the loss a soldier’s life,” said Archbishop Derderian.

The Armenia School Foundation (ASF) was founded in May 2003 in Glendale, California. ASF, a non-profit and non-sectarian organization, on the notion that all children of Armenia and Artsakh need to have a safe and supportive learning environment. It strives to meet this need by providing new furniture to enhance the learning process.

There have also been continuous fundraising activities since its inception. Thus far, with the strong support of the community, close to 230 schools in all regions of Armenia and Artsakh have received over 21,000 sets of brand new and high-quality student desks and chairs.
