Led by their teachers, the students of the AGBU Vatche and Tamar Manoukian High School visited the Western Diocese on Wednesday, March 21, 2018.
They were led on a tour of St. Leon (Srbots Ghevontiants) Armenian Cathedral and the Zorayan Museum located in the lower gallery of the Western Diocese and the Western Diocese Turpanjian Diocesan Bulding by the Rev. Fr. Nerses Hayrapetyan and Mr. Hayk Madoyan. Led by Fr. Nerses, the students also participated in a prayer service.
Welcoming the students, Archbishop Derderian addressed the topic of spiritual immunity. “We pay keen attention to maintain and strengthening our immune systems. However, strengthening our spiritual immunity requires tremendous dedication and discipline. It requires unyielding love for God, which is manifested through prayer, almsgiving and fasting in this season of the Great Lent. Spiritual immunity is a process,” said the Primate.
Archbishop Derderian also called upon the students to follow in the footsteps of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and to uphold the sacred teachings of the Armenian Apostolic Church.
Prior to departure, the students were treated to a pizza lunch.
